Positive Behaviour Programme

This programme has been developed to encourage the pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour and performance in school.

Through positive behaviour pupils receive points which they can then use to obtain rewards. The points are recorded in the students’ journal. Each pupil can get 1 point each day from his/her tutor if they satisfy the following criteria = 20 points per week.

1. Full attendance (all day every day) = 1 point
2. No teacher notes in the journal = 1 point
3. Full uniform = 1 point
4. Journal kept neat and tidy = 1 point

All teachers involved with first year also award bonus points. The school organises activities for the pupils as a way of spending the points such as:

  • No Uniform Day
  • Bowling Trips
  • Activity Afternoons
  • Trips to Cinema etc.
  • Buying School Equipment

The P.B.P. is also continued into 2nd / 3rd year. To date the response from the pupils is very satisfactory.
