Student Council
Students have a valuable contribution to make to the effectiveness of the school. The Student Council was set up to give the students a voice in the running and activities of the school. Some of the aims of the student council are as follows:
(a) To represent the views of the student population.
(b) To allow for increased communication between staff and students.
(c) To allow for development of students involved (ie. to learn from their experience on the Student Council)
(d) To give the members increased confidence and self-esteem.
In Collinstown Park Community College , because of the number of pupils involved, we have two Student Councils , a Junior and Senior Council. They meet separately 4/5 times per term. Some of the issues they are currently involved in discussing/researching are...
- School Uniform
- Safety Issues in School
- Green Schools
- Graffiti and Vandalism in School
