On 3rd April 2025, Collinstown Park Community College proudly celebrated 40 years of our wonderful school. The evening began at 4:30pm with a special prayer service held for all past and present staff. It was a moment of reflection to remember and honour teachers, students, and staff members who have sadly passed away over the years.
Following the prayer service, refreshments were held in the assembly hall for both former and current staff. It was a lovely opportunity for colleagues, old and new, to reconnect and share stories from their time at CPCC.
At 6:00pm, we moved into the sports hall for the official anniversary ceremony. Past students and teachers returned to mark the occasion, and the ceremony featured heartfelt speeches from our principal, Ms Duffy, the CEO of DDLETB, Ms McGrath, and Leon Lalor, one of our Transition Year students. A special moment of the evening was when we presented gifts to members of CPCC’s very first teaching staff, acknowledging their role in shaping the early days of the school.
We were also treated to beautiful performances by 5th year student Rhianna Dunne and past pupil Zoe Clarke, adding a musical touch to the celebrations.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy tea and coffee back in the assembly hall. Around the school, TV screens displayed a nostalgic slideshow of photos of past students, staff, and memorable moments from the past four decades. The evening concluded with a guided tour of the school building, allowing everyone to walk down memory lane and see how the school has grown and changed over the years.
Overall, it was a heartwarming and joyful night – a true celebration of Collinstown Park’s history, community, and the many friendships that have stood the test of time.
