Causey Farm

Causey Farm

In September, the school took the TY group to Causey Farm in County Meath. The journey to our destination took an hour and a half. When we arrived, we divided into groups and began making pizza dough. After preparing the dough, we visited the farm animals while waiting for it to be ready to bake. We had the opportunity to hold some of the animals and even went into the pig's pen.

Later, we had a paint fight, leaving everyone covered from head to toe in paint. After that, we took a break and enjoyed the pizzas we had made – they were delicious! Many of us had also brought our own snacks, which we ate as well.

Next, we took a short trailer ride, which only lasted about five minutes, to the bog. The thing we didn't enjoy about the bog was having to take off our socks, as it was freezing cold. Once we stepped into the bog, it felt like we were being sucked in, and it was extremely difficult to get out. It was quite funny trying to free ourselves, though we often needed help. Eventually, everyone managed to get out, but it was disgusting, as there were no showers available. We had to clean ourselves off with baby wipes.

After we were all somewhat cleaned up, we had ice cream and sat down with our friends to relax for a bit. Everyone was exhausted after such a long and fun day. By the time we got back to school, it was already past the end of the school day due to heavy traffic.
