Congratulations to our Junior debate team who won their first DDLETB Interschools Debate today. Their opponents were a challenging team from Rath Dara Community College, who hosted the event.
CPCC were proposing the motion that 'School uniforms should be abolished'. We were represented competently by Seán Duff (3E), Holly Rafferty (2L) and Brooke O'Mahony (3E). Fellow members of the Debate Club were also in attendance and took part in a floor debate where they were able to pose questions to both teams.
Students have worked hard in the run up to this debate to research the topic of uniforms, to develop their own opinions and write compelling and coherent speeches.
We are very proud of our team and are looking forward to Round 2 against Griffeen C.C. later this month.
Thanks to Ms Lucey for the information and the photographs.
