On Thursday, 14th November, CPCC TY students, along with some 6th-year students, attended an open day at TUD Tallaght. They were accompanied by a group of Spanish students who had been visiting our school for two weeks.
The students travelled to TUD independently by taking the W2 bus from outside the school gates and met our guidance counsellors, Ms Daly and Ms O’Reilly, at the university's main entrance.
Upon entering the building, we were warmly welcomed by TUD students and staff members, who provided each student with a brochure about the college. The event was held in the sports building, specifically in the PE hall. Inside, the hall was filled with numerous stands where students could engage with lecturers and current students from a variety of courses.
The TUD staff and students gave us valuable insights into the wide range of courses available. They explained the points required for different programmes, the careers these courses could lead to, and the student support facilities offered at TUD. The stands showcased courses such as social sciences, culinary arts, hospitality, business, engineering, and media studies.
