On Friday, the 19th of November, about twenty TY students were selected to spend the day planting trees outside the school, and had to wear old clothes as they would be getting dirty.

They had some help from some chaperones and teachers, who showed them how to efficiently plant the trees. They did this to help the environment because there has been a rapid decrease in trees in recent years, because they are being chopped down for materials but not replanted. The TYs worked very hard throughout the day planting a wide variety of trees while using all different kinds tools from shovels to pickaxes.

At 11am they got a small break to have tea and biscuits, and then got straight back to work. By the end of the day, the students managed to plant around two-hundred trees and they still plan to plant more.
