Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)

On 6 November 2012, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) was established as a new integrated agency replacing the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC), the Higher Education and Training Awards Council and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland and incorporating the functions of the Irish Universities Quality Board. QQI awards are quality assured. This means that the learner can have confidence that the course, and the provider are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Quality assurance is intended to ensure that all learners have a high quality learning experience

FETAC Awards

The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) was the former national body for further education and training in Ireland. FETAC Awards are now made by QQI.

The National Framework of Qualifications

The National Framework of Qualifications places awards at different levels on the framework. It provides a way to compare qualifications and ensures that learners and employers understand the level at which the award is made.
