Course Aim
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill, and competence to work under supervision in a variety of community care settings and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.


Employability Statement
On completion of this programme, learners may pursue roles within the healthcare sector across the lifespan. This includes roles as Health, Family & Social Care Sector. This may include working as Healthcare support worker, Youth worker & Special Needs assistant or in a broad range of roles in the Social & Community Care sector.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4. Mature students with relevant life or work experience. All candidates will be interviewed individually.


Work Experience
Work Experience is a compulsory part of the course. Garda vetting is essential and will be organised through the college.


Certification
QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community Care.
